Location

Elbo Creek Estates West is in the Green Valley area of Blue Township in Pottawatomie County, Kansas. It is two miles east of Manhattan, Kansas.  From there, take US Hwy 24 east, turn north on Green Valley Road, and go approximately one mile to Nature Avenue to arrive at the main entrance of the subdivision.

Local Area

Green Valley is in Pottawatomie County located near Manhattan, Kansas which is a college community, home to Kansas State University where many of our residents work or go to school, complemented by nearby Fort Riley, and located in the beautiful northern Flint Hills region. Manhattan is the county seat of Riley County with a population of more than 54,000 that serves as a regional hub for shopping, health care, education, entertainment, and communication. Elbo Creek Estates West is located in Blue Township in Pottawatomie County, Kansas which is a growing county, population of 24,722 (KS Secretary of State 2020), with a continued expansion of new construction in the housing markets and business sectors.

To the west of the City of Manhattan is Fort Riley, home of the legendary 1st Infantry Division, "The Big Red One."  Many of our residents are stationed or work at Fort Riley.  It is also the home of the new Irwin Army Community Hospital (IACH) which opened in 2016 serving over 50,000 active duty service members, their families, and retired military families.

Elbo Creek Estates West subdivision is a covenanted-protected community which will have 210 homes when completed.  It is governed by the Elbo Creek Estates West Home Owner’s Association, Inc. by a board of directors and an architectural control committee (ACC).  It prides itself on being a friendly and aesthetically appealing neighborhood with developing recreation areas restricted to the use of homeowners and tenants.

Schools

Manhattan-Ogden Unified School District 383 school district serves Elbo Creek Estates West Subdivision. Children grades K-5 currently attend Oliver Brown Elementary School, and grades 6-8 attend Eisenhower Middle School. Students in grades 9-12 are at the Manhattan High School West campus. Oliver Brown Elementary School, situated in the Green Valley area of Blue Township, opened in August 2021.

There are also several accredited private schools in the area. Flint Hills Christian School is located about a half mile from Elbo Creek Estates West on Green Valley Road, well within walking distance. They offer K-12. Manhattan Catholic Schools serve Pre-K thru 8th Grade.
